MASTERLIST OF BIPOC BOOKS I RECOMMEND

BIPOC = books written by and/or features Black, Indigenous, and/or People of Color

ASIAN = books written by Asian authors and/or feature Asian characters.

 

This is an alphabetical list of BIPOC books that I have read and reviewed that I would recommend for whatever reason. This list is not to tell anyone that these are the only books you should read or that I have read but rather to raise awareness. As an Asian person, it hurts when, more often than not, books are cast aside simply because of the author/characters' identity.

PSA:  I would appreciate it if you did not read these books simply because they are written by BIPOC authors or have BIPOC characters... but because you are actually interested in the stories they have to tell. A book doesn't need to be a memoir for you to "learn something" about other cultures. You can really just read these books to pass the time and not to "learn something". Just like you would any other book when you are reading for leisure, whether or not they are diverse.
